How much does it cost to run a Lost and Found Ad?

I lost my ipod and i found it by looking in the lost and found in the daily journal. Im picking it up tomorrow and I wanna give the people a reward and pay for the ad. Does it cost the usual 30 dollars, or is it free since its a lost and found?

It depends on the area.  In my area, our local paper lets you run lost and found ads for free.  Call the paper you found it in and ask.

A good reward would be a nice gift card to a local Restaurant. Much better than cash and he/she will probably enjoy it better. The ad if it is like most papers should have been free. You can buy a paper and check the ads, rates should be listed so you can be prepared before you reward them.
