I know it's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' type question but a few rough ideas would be good e.g. set up costs, running costs, staffing costs of an average size team, and all the music and legal stuff too - really rough average figures would be good. ta

  1. If you're on a Restricted Service Licence (a licence allowing you to broadcast twice a year for up to a month) costs £400 to apply for - whether you are granted a licence or not. On top of that it's then £70 a day for copyright, and an extra £50 a day if some of that copyrighted material is being played from a computer.

As for staff costs - the whole point of a community radio station is that it's run by volunteers - so that costs £0.

Unfortunately it's hard to give you a rough cost for equipment but for a decent desk expect to pay at least £150.

    Hope this helps!

  2. if you talking about broadcasting 24-7 well to start with you out lay will be about 800UK pounds  then about 1200UK pounds a week after that ,this depends on the music you play and how long you play music for on air.

you can do deals here and there with company's and get the price down a week and also if you go about it right with sponsors get the first out lay down too

    regards x kitti x

  3. i dont no much about it . but you would need to pay artist for music and you even cant talk you have to pay for that or something
