There's a dog on craigslist that I might take, but the lady said she has no shots and isn't fixed. But she not housed with any males dogs. Can someone give me an estimate on how much all the shots will cost? And heartworm tests and medicine if she has them. I know how much it costs to get her spayed.

Thanks.

  1. Depends on where you go, but a rough estimate is $500 for everything.  Could be a little more.

  2. To do all the initial shots and testing plus spay you are looking at about $500 - 800, then the licensing comes to mind also.  Dogs are not cheap to own and there are always the emergencies you need to be ready for.

  3. The price can vary greatly depending where you live and where you go.

Vets will be more expensive for shots, but it sounds like the dog will need a checkup if she hasn't had one in a year. You can get lower cost vaccinations at the humane society or some animal clinics. Petco offers low-cost vaccination clinics, so give them a call about it. They may be there once a month, or every two weeks, it will depend on the store.

Spaying will be most expensive at the vet, so even if you know what they charge, have you called the shelter to see what they charge?

Spaying is a great idea, as it will decrease her risk of certain cancers, and you don't have to worry about the mess when she does go into heat.

  4. The shots are going to range around 45$ per shot from where i go and most dogs cost from 500 to 2000$ depending on the size and type of dog.   So all together about 1000-2500

  5. About 80 for the vet's visit and the shots. I don't know where the h**l these people are going that they're spending two grand at the freakin vet.

Or you could just go to a farm supply store and get what they call a 7 in 1 shot. I prefer the touch of a vet though. And contact Spay USA, you may be able to find a low cost spay/neuter option.
