You can take the ferry from Samos to Kusadasi then you can take the bus to Istanbul after traveling around Kusadasi for a few days. It is one of the famous touristic places in Turkey. The ferry is not that expensive. You can just hit the above link.

  2. It will be a long trip, 22 hrs 36 mins or 18 hrs 46 mins.

    depart Athens: 22:55 (11:59pm) or 13:21 (1.21pm)

    arrive Thessaloniki/Salonika: 05:29 or 18:31 (6.31pm)

    depart Thessaloniki/Salonika: 07:29 or 19:37 (7:37pm)

    arrive Istanbul (Sirkeci): 21:31 (9:31pm) or 08:07

    Ticketprice one-way (without sleeping coach)

    2nd class: 92,80 Lira (53,26 €; £42,91; $78,14)

    1st class: 139,20 Lira (79,89 €; £64,37; $117,22)

Since the night train from Thessaloniki to Istanbul consists only of sleeping coaches, an additional fare is to be paid:

    2nd class: 45,30 Lira (26,00 €; £20,95; $38,15)

    1st class: 68,00 Lira (39,03 €; £31,44; $57,26)

  3. Exactly.
