How much does it hurt to get your lip pierced?

okay so i'm getting my bottom right lip pierced for my birthday, i was just wondering,

how much does it hurt?

My lip piercings barely hurt, in comparison to my other piercings.

If you're reallllllllllllly terrified about the pain, ask for a 16G needle as opposed to a 14G needle. The 16G is thinner, therefore hurt less (I had one 16G, one 14G). You can just stretch it to a 14 once the piercing has healed (stretching does not hurt at all, so don't worry about that).

But everyone's different, so just because mine didn't hurt, it doesn't mean your's won't. Or your's might be completely painless! It all depends on the individual, and the only way you'll ever know is if you get it done.

P.S: Do not take painkillers or anything beforehand, thinking it'll make the piercing hurt less: it doesn't. Painkillers can thin the blood and make it bleed more, although lip piercings rarely bleed.

depends on your pain thresh hole thingy,

mine didn't hurt at all, except when i forgot it was there and bit it.

so it's like the pain after, not the initial piercing.

the  pain  of infection  is  what  you  need  to  face  if  you  plan  to  to  this silly  thing.  there  are  so many  places  to  get  piercings  without intruding  on  the  inside  of the  body. ive  seen  tongues  split  into  forks as  a  result  of  bad  piercings and  irresponsible  care.

do  you  need  to  be  a freak  that  badly?

I got mine done last week, and on a scale from one to ten it was about a 2. the initial didn't really hurt at all, it was more uncomfortable, and about 10 minutes after it was done, it started hurting, the highest pain level it reached was about a 4, if even that.

it doesn't hurt that much. i think it was one of the painless piercings that i got. and i have 8 piercings...i'd say go for it.
