  1. it hurts based on your tolerance level, and you said yours is pretty good. it will hurt even if you do have good tolerance, it will most likely hurt for anyone. tongue in my opinion hurts the most.

    be careful and good luck.

  2. by rights you have to be at least 16 with a parent and 18 and up with id. most body piercer shops you have to be at least 18 to walk in and if your not they tell you to leave honestly. all piercings hurt no matter what you get done but some hurt worst then others and the tongue is the most sensitive organ.

you would have to learn how to talk all over again cause of the tongue ring. Piercing Tongue Rings are Painful Pleasures Specialty.

it takes 6 months to heal and you can't change it and till 6 months cause it will get infected. but honestly the tongue is the most painful piercing ever to get my friends got it done and they said that they wish they never got it done cause it hurts so bad and you can't talk for a while and you can't eat anything but cold stuff and soft food and sometimes there are risk in getting your tongue pierced it can damage your teeth and gums, people wearing a tongue stud for more than 4 years had chipped teeth, and 35% had receding gums because of the stud banging against the gum, Because different parts of the tongue are sensitive to different tastes, some people find that a piercing affects their sense of taste. It can also cause slight difficulty in speaking clearly. If you need an operation, you will be asked to remove the tongue jewelery, because it can cause difficulties with the anaesthetic.,The piercing can allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream. In a recent case in the USA, the bacteria from a tongue piercing damaged the valves of the heart.,

    # bacterial infection (where you had the piercing)

    # Excessive (a lot of) bleeding

    # Allergic reactions (especially to certain kinds of jewelry)

    # Damage to nerves (for example, you may lose feeling at the area that gets pierced)

    # Keloids (thick scarring at the piercing site)

    # Dental damage (swelling and infection of tongue, chipped and broken teeth, choking on loose jewelry)

The main medical dangers involved with tongue piercing are infection, metal allergy and bleeding. In fact, The National Institutes of Health has identified piercing as possible route for the transmission of hepatitis. In the case of tongue piercing, the bacteria rich mouth can cause an infection at the piercing site. Untreated, the infection could cause swelling to the throat, and prevent a person from breathing. Tongue piercing can cause an allergic reaction, excessive bleeding during or after the procedure and breathing complications if the ornament is swallowed.

Tongue piercing has grown immensely over the last several years. This trend, seen mainly in adolescents and young adults, can present considerable dental and medical risks. The dental dangers include chipping of teeth and gum problems, which may be directly related to size of the piercing and the length of time worn. The medical complications can include infection, allergic reaction and excessive bleeding.

  3. Pain is relative. Some people barely feel this piercing, others say it hurts a lot. Your piercer should be able to help you relax and talk you through the anxiety.

Since you need to hide the piercing, tell your piercer. He/she can pierce you with a quartz or Pyrex retainer for initial jewelry. You don't want to be changing it too soon so this is what I advise clients who need to hide their piercings for whatever reason

  4. well its like stickin a needle in ur arm and pullin it out the other side slowly

  5. getting it done doesn't hurt but it does swell up for about 3 days afterwards...good luck
