Cost about $325.00, retail is $595 -$695, for the base system, so you have some room to negotiate....No monthly fee, but you have it serviced every 5 years and change the battery since it uses its own power source.  Also look into the new Early Warning Lojack, really cool system, cost is about $550 and retails for $795-$995.  This system includes a transmitter on your keys so that if your vehicle is ever driven without the transmitter present in the car, Lojack will automatically be notified and will call or email you to make sure you know where the car is.  If not they start tracking it that much sooner.
