Cheap Russian ones are between $200 - $500

For a good set of US made military ones you are going to spend $3000 - $6000

What really makes the difference in cost is the quality of the intensifier tube. Goggles with a first generation tube are pretty cheap (relatively speaking), ones with a fourth generation tube will produce a much clearer image but will costs the big bucks.

depends on your use for such a thing. is your need requiring hands free, hunting, ease of use, battery life, magnification, IR light, etc. American made ANPVS 5's can be found binocular style covers the complete eyes just like diving goggles run for 500-700 very low resolution grainy and very poor depth perception.  really close to what low end Russian NVG's would be 300-500.  ANPVS 7's or cyclops is binocular at the eyes to a monocular, has good picture, better depth perception, very easy to use and manipulate, also has an IR light for extremely dark areas U.S. made 1500-2000 Russian made about 1000. also think about scopes as well as hand held monocular the market has many many companies with night vision products check out night owl any military stores like ranger Joe's or even cabellas or even walmart.  hands on is the only way to buy these items each person has different needs and like different features.  any way you cut it a good set of NVG's plan on at least 1000 (a good starting figure if you want serious night vision) my simple night owl monocular  i use in my yard and just for s***s and giggles are 200 so pick your poison and have fun
