  1. Car batteries are made to be discharged! The more you use them the longer they last! When they just sit there not being used they create dentrites which prevent power from being generated! They should last at least ten years with normal to heavy usage!

  2. There is a big difference in price for electric car batteries, you can use regular car batteries, or the more expensive deep cycle gel, batteries,

how long they last and the weight depends again on the battery, and how much strain is put on the battery,

It is not uncommon for an electric cars battery to last 7 years.

  3. I can get AA batteries for about $0.46 each.  I just use one of them to power my Thomas electric train!

  4. It depends on the size of your car.Generally you need to replace them every year.

  5. One deep cycle lead acid battery suitable for an electric car is $100 to $140 apiece. Now multiply that times 12 to 16. Life span? A battery pack's lifespan is determined in cycles. A charged battery taken down to a level of discharge then recharged is a cycle. The deeper discharge level = a shorter life span; 200 to 300 cycles, a discharge level that is not so deep= longer lifespan; 400 to 500 cycles, maybe more. A lot depends on distance driven, terrain, speed. A typical deep cycle battery weighs 63 to 69 lbs each.
