  1. Well, we haven't contributed enough I guess?

  2. It has to be like 14% best answers...and, that could be done by two ways

ask a lot, it gets your points down, so the ratio of best answers will go up

    or, like the Emperor said

  3. I answer a lot of questions and get many best answers as well. I try to get over 200 points a week if I want to keep the Top Contributor rating;if you don't answer a certain amount of questions per week, you lose you top contributor badge, even if you are top Best Answerer.

  4. I spent a week answering at least 10 questions a day in economics and I got mine:-)

    Here are some strategies:

-answer lots of questions you have a good chance of getting BA for.  This can vary from category to category, but usually they have a factual answer and attract maybe 2-3 answers

-aim for 25% BA in a category

-don't be afraid to go back and vote for your own answers.  Seriously, in my experience, only about 25% of askers choose a BA, and if you don't vote, the BA could end up going to someone who answered "puppies" for a serious question you put a lot of time into.

-always be polite.  This should go without saying, but if someone answers a question stating that the asker is stupid, they have no chance of getting picked BA

-for non-homework questions, longer answers generally have a better chance of getting BA, but make sure you actually have something to say

Those are the strategies I use.  Hope that helps!

  5. Just make another account and ask yourself a bunch of questions here.  It works for about 25% of R&S's top contributors.

  6. to be honest I just gave some answers or got best answer's   haven't a clue how many................ and one time I turned on I had it I tried to find out by looking as the levels went up but it didn't tell me ..................

  7. I have no idea - it just showed up one day. I find it a little odd, myself. You would think that top contributor would have something to do with "quality". I just give my opinions.

But I do get really bored at work sometimes and I'm a level 4 already which to me means that it's about quantity of questions answered.

I do wish it came in different colors - it doesn't go with my Avatar very well......

EDIT - OK - this is really weird - I WAS a top contributor and I just answered this question and noticed that my orange bar was missing. Maybe it is about quality! I guess I got kicked out of the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Actually, I don't think that information is posted anywhere. It could be volume, or the number of best answers, or the number of stars, or recent activity.

The easiest way to do it would be to answer kids algebra homework all day.
