How much does people drink in greece?

my buddy went(19yrs of age) and is taking advantage of the drinking age in greece and he talks like everyone there drinks is this true, or do they just drink some and not get drunk

No, everyone drinks more than some, but for whatever reason I was the only one getting drunk.  :-(  Apparently the bartender mistook my slurred speech for my American accent.  And if the natives were drunk, then they really know how to balance their scooters well.
