Im in philadelphia, pa and im thinking of taking up social work.

gives all sorts of data on social work and other careers, $35-$49 thousand a year was the average.

Salary.com lists it as 38-54K with the real range from 41-50K

I would say that this sounds about right for a major metropolitan area.

Look at the cities job line, I do not think you will like it, it is very stressfull and typically not a high paying carreer field.
