How much does private bjj tuition cost in brazil?

I want to improve my bjj fast and have been thinking about taking private lessons. The cost of a lesson here in the uk is quite expensive.

If I was to go to brazil, how much would it cost per hour to learn from an english speaking black belt or even brown, purple belt?

Obviously travel costs would be high but I am asking about lessons costs only.

  1. My coach is from Brazil. He's only been in US for less than a year now. I think he said that's it's like the equivalent of around $30US/month. He said that basically you train in the morning/afternoon, go surfing, train again in the evening, and then hang out for the night. I suspect that if you do go you will develop your game a lot quicker because that's pretty much all you'll be doing. Good luck. Oh, as for privates I'll ask him and find out, but me thinks it's around $40/hour. But I'm not%100 about that.

  2. I'll help you improve your BJ fast.

  3. Why go to Brazil? I respect it there (obviously), but all you have to do is learn from just about any Gracie (affiliate or someone trained under) and the instruction is as good as can be. Yes, there are other good schools, but the vast majority of the other ones only emphasize tournament strategy. Good luck beating someone on the street with only that type of outlook.

I don't think you need to travel long distances. I found this one for you and there should be others.

  4. Ask these guys for help: www.ibjjf.org.  they have some recommendations for you.  They govern all of the big BJJ tournaments and I'm sure have a strong roster of excellent instructors around the world.

You can also check into www.otm.com, they may have some schools resources that are helpful.
