How much does social security pay in rent subsidies for those that a recieve SSI Disability ?

  1. not one penny, so this means those that are RENTING are paying their rent from their SSI benefits.  The government does not subsidized for anyone's rent unless you have a Section 8 Voucher which is a Rent Subsidy Program.  And you pay your rent according to how much you bring in on a monthly basis.  So if your Rent is 1400.00 a month, they will figure 40% of your monthly income (30 Federal, 10 State), so if your Monthly Income is 1300.00 times 40% is 468 (which is what you will pay) sutract this from your Rent of 1400.00 and Section 8 pays 932.00 Monthly on your rent.  So if your only means of income were SSI, then multiply that by 40% and that is what you would have to pay for rent, if of course you were on a subsidy program, if not then the Gov says you have to pay ALL of your bills from your SSI Check.  YEP it sucks dosent it?
