  1. In addition to TOEFL or IELTS you need to take up GRE for most of the universities. Right now, get good grades/marks and also try and complete as many projects and technical papers presentations/publications as you can. Keep good rapport with your profs to get good recommendations from them.

Which country are you aiming for? Can you afford to self-finance your entire MS? In that case, you should have a minimum liquid capital of about Rs. 12 to 15 lakhs for the full course. It varies from univ to univ. Getting aid for an MS degree is very difficult as compared to a Ph.D. (I'm going for my MS this year to Singapore, however I am receiving full scholarship).

In the US it is possible to get some on-campus jobs after your first semester. That should take care of your expenses second semester onwards. In the UK, if there is a scholarship, many universities have a tendency to divide that into three or four and give quarter aid to four students. For Europe, Australia and New Zealand, its better to get free counseling from agents like The Chopras, Edwise International, StudyAbroad.com etc.

Best source for all info will be your college seniors who have also tried and got through. Go through all the university websites too. Good Luck!!

  2. Cost varies from School to School. Pursuing MS in IT as an International student in USA, you need to follow certain procedures. Assuming your 1st choice is USA.

You have to clear TOEFL & GRE with high grades.Very high grades will give you an option to pursue in a better School and may be(?) with some financial assistances.

You should start now for finding the right schools, preparations for TOEFL & GRE. Select a few schools and you may take help from one of the agencies in this line at your place. And above all you should contact The Council of American Education.

  3. 1.  complete your UG with good percentage

    2. then take up IELTS or TOFEL (score 6.5 in IELTS and 80 to 90 in TOFEL)

    3. then apply for the unis

cost for doing ms depends form country to country and the course u take

Europe --------min mum 6000 euro  and maximum 8000 euro

u.s.a -----------$25,000 per year, just for tuition.

    u.k-------------- $25,000 to $40,000

  4. Graduate studies for a M.S. degree should cost a minimum of $20,000.

State universities are cheaper compared to private universities. Among the state universities, you may want to apply for those in states like Alabama and Mississippi for lowest tuition and fees.  Standard of graduate studies in the U.S. is pretty much the same in all states.

Take TOEFL and GRE at least 6 months before your planned enrollment.  Score as high as possible, particularly in GRE.  It is considered, among others, for admission and financial aid.

The Fall season is the best time to enter U.S. Universities, as it is the financial year beginning, which means the possibility of assistantship is more.

If you don't get assistantship, you can work for 20 hours on campus.  Most of such jobs pay only minimum wage.  Your on campus work covers only a small part of your total expenses.

If you achieve a high GPA (grade point average) in your first semester, assistantship chances are brighter from second semester onwards.

    Good wishes.
