I'm thinking about visiting family in Croatia next summer and with the dollar so weak lately I'm worried about the cost of things. I did do some research and found that croatia uses the kuna and that $1 would equal about 4.89 kunas. So, what I'm wondering is how much things would cost. Like how much would a meal be, how much would it be to but a shirt or other shopping stuff? Thank!

  1. Dobar dan !!

Your question is an interesting one, but it makes me feel like an old man. The last time I was in Hrvatska (june 1988) was before the fall of the Berlin Wall and so the dinar was still in use. I honestly don't remember exact prices but they were lower than those in other European countries, though in tourist areas like Dubrovnik they were a bit higher.

    Safe travels!

  2. eastern europe is generally very cheap. I've never been to Croatia, but because it isn't even in the European Union, I expect it will be cheap.

  3. A meal - 50-250 kn per person (fast food or restaurant), clothes...hm...same as in Austria or Germany,jeans Levi's 1200 kn,you can find cheaper like 500 kn,t-shirts 500 a brand name,or 100-200 kn -nice ones
