My husband has just enlisted in the Army. He is going in as a E-3. How much does the Army take out for taxes each month? Just wondering he enlisted 3 months ago and just left and we have a lot of things that are past due trying to catch them up!!!!!!

  1. When not in combat zone, the military will withhold according to how he filled out his W-4, like any employer.  You can figure it out by filling out the calculator at http://www.paycheckcity.com/

    When in a combat zone, his income is tax free so they won't withhold anything.
