How much does the SAT cost?

Question

I'm talking about the regular SAT test (critical reading, math, writing). I want to register for the October and November test dates. I know there are some people who can take the test for free if their families don't make enough money, what's the cut off for that?

Is there any other time I can take the SAT rather than the national test dates (Oct. 4, Nov. 1, etc.)? Or is SAT testing only administered on these dates?
