This is Mexico......wages are not good compared to the American pay scale.  Cost of living is not much different than the states.  It all depends on the position you are talking about.  Some people work on tips alone.  For example....one of the better known restaurants here pays waiters 8.00 per day plus tips.  Now you do the Math.

You should know that the minimun wage in mexico is like 5 dollars per day and each day may have 8 hours of work. Now, it really depends about the kind of work you wanna do, or you can do.

They rely on tips to get buy.

They can find cheap accommodation and probably do not smoke and in most cases do not drink.

Rent could vary from $70.  a month to $140.00.

Most are married and have two incomes and live where people pay large just to visit.
