How much does the tooth fairy pay for a tooth these days?

My daughter had her 2 front bottom teeth pulled today, and they are the first. The tooth fairy should be making an appearance any moment now....how much does she leave these days....I used to get a quarter, but I am sure that is insufficient these days!

  1. I'd say it depends on what kind of budget that tooth fairy is on...

I know the going rate at our house is about $5 or we get the $2 bills and they think they are super special then

  2. first teeth need a five dollar bill =)

    Sincerely,

    A very Very Bizzy Bee

  3. when i lost my first tooth i got 35 cents....... but i was 5 so......after that it was $2-5 apiece.

  4. My kids get a dollar unless they lose the tooth in a special way.  For example, my daughter had her loose tooth knocked out with a jump rope handle, it was traumatic for her, so she got more.  Oh, and it is definitely given in change form, not paper :)

  5. $1 or $2 per tooth.

  6. Well the tooth fairy gives $3.00 in our house

The binky fairy gives a little wrapped up toy for every binky hidden around the house on binky fairy night - (only comes once in a lifetime)

oh .............and bottle fairy does the same as the binky fairy.

It works great for helping rid of the addictions - binkies and bottles

  7. $1.00 a tooth

  8. $10 every tooth.  They only lose them once and they get so excited.  I have 4 children and have done this for all of them

  9. My mom used to give me stuff instead. Like I used to really like stuffed animals, so she would give me a little beanie baby or something small that I wanted.

  10. i would do a dollar for each tooth

  11. My daughter got $5 for her first tooth (cause it's special) then $1 for the others...that seems to be the norm at her school

  12. I hope its still a quarter because that it what I was planning to give if we decide to give in to the tooth fairy myth. I wouldn't leave more than a dollar for two teeth, I'm sure thats alot of money to your child.

  13. I give 50c, my kids seem thrilled with this.

  14. i gave my kids $5 forthe first and $1 for every one after.

  15. I got about between $20 and $5. Kids are happy with at least $1 but I think they need more. I hope this helped.

  16. a pile of coins.  No paper money.

    This is the RULE

  17. i used to get a quarter...but im 15.

i'd say about a dollar? that should be enough.

  18. For the first one's they usually got a tooth fairy Barbie and 5 dollars!  Not always the rest of the teeth get a couple bucks - they just get excited "she" came.

  19. a worked in a dentist office a few years ago and the going rate was around $1 per tooth......one kid even said he got $5 per tooth...i think you should base it on what you feel is right and how you raise your child with your monetary values

  20. I figure 2 dollars is good. thats enough for a candy bar and a little left over. i used to get 5 dollars from my mom..but i dont think thats what kids usually get

  21. 3-5 dollars??

  22. The tooth fairy here leaves a toothbrush or floss or toothpaste, plus a fifty cent piece (or other *special* coin).  My youngest had to have 4 teeth removed by the dentist and didn't make a fuss and the toothfairy left her $20 worth of quarters.  She was a happy camper lol.

  23. Please don't be like my 6 years old son's uncle(the spoiler) who happens to be at the house one morning and slipped $25 under the pillow without my knowledge. My son was happy as ever could be, I wasn't sharing the excitement for the future disappointment.

  24. a five dollar bill. I would have been happy with a five.

  25. Well, I bet it's more then a quarter.  You may want to compare it to the rising gas prices (ha ha).  I would give $5.00 for both teeth.
