How much does transportation for a horse cost?

I was wondering how much it would cost to get a 16 hands horse from the west of ireland to Hertfodshire (near London). If you can recommend anyone it would be great but I really need to know the cost.

I know this probably isn't much help but my friend got a couple of 10hh donkeys over from ireland a couple of weeks ago, she got them taken to the boat port near her in Ayrshire, and then hired a horsebox for 6 hours for £80.

It cost her £290 for shipping and £80 for transport hire on land.

Good Luck! Or just ask the sellers some people aren't happy with horses being shipped.

You should contact your vet or a local feed store or tack shop. Ask them for the names of some good, reliable shippers. Than call the shippers and see what their rates are. That way you'll get an accurate quote, not just a guess. Good luck :)
