  1. I know someone who is actually a casual at the bar, he is just a student and worked there, he was getting $20/hr, a dealer pays better, therefore I would suggest maybe $20 is the minimum.

You can always give it a shot. Or go there for a visit, have your dinner there and talk to people who are the Star City's casino.

    Good luck

  2. I knew somebody who did the course nearly 5 years ago, and is still there and happy with it. He started out as a dealer, then was trained up for and moved to other games, until he became a trainer-supervisor.

If they see you are not going to be suitable, they don't let you waste your time (or theirs) by doing the whole 4 weeks. They are keen on people who speak another language, especially an Asian one, as that is where a lot of tourists come from.

The money I can't tell you about, as it would depend on the shifts you do. A lot of it is rotating shift work, but with more evening shifts as that is the busier time. I understand many of the people have been there a long time, so the pay and conditions both must be quite good.

Dealers are not allowed to take tips of any kind. They are also not allowed to play in the casino themselves (for someone with a bit of a gambling streak, this rule alone could be a big saving!).
