How much does your car cost you? If you drive it around, how much per hour in fuel does it cost you? Tell me what kind of car you have and exlain your math.

  1. 2006 Toyota Corolla CE.

    Monthly Payment: $360

    Original cost: $15K

    Registration: $75 a year

    Insurance: about $145 per month

    Gasoline: Full tank costs $35 per week.

    Gas mileage: 35 - 40mpg city, depending on how I drive

    Maintenance: $250 per year

    Tires: $272 every 80k miles, Pirelli Cinturatos

    Repairs: Don't know, hasn't needed anything yet

    Pilgrim...you have a cooool car. :)  Have a classic of my own the garage that dad and I will be restoring this year. 1962 Plymouth Valiant V200. Definitely looking forward to it. :)

    Monthly Payment: 0

    Initial cost in 1984: $1,308

    Registration: $36 a year

    Insurance:  about $800 a year

    Gasoline:   about $45 a tankful about once a week

    Maintenance: about $400 a year

    Tires:  $120 an axle once a year

    Repairs:  never know, most years go by with nothing, other years get very expensive.

    A paint job is rouhly $2,000 lasts about 10 years

    New window lacing & seals: $750 we've only done this once

    Upholstery is about $1,200 lasts about 7 years

    A rebuilt engine is $1,800 I'll be putting in the 2nd in 22 years next month.

    A rebuilt trans is $700, but we're putting in a 700R4 this year to get better mileage and it's gonna cost $1,800.

    Having no warning buzzars, ignition lock, on-board computer or built-in obsolesence . . .  priceless
