  1. I use to use it but now I drink Monavie which seems to work better for me

  2. That depends on what you're fighting and at what stage. Echinacea is not to be used as a tonic but to give the immune system a sudden burst.

Here's how we use it: At the first sign of illness, I would take 4 droppers (slightly over 1/4 teaspoon each) of liquid extract of Echinacea root. (We use E. purpurea mostly). In an hour we take 1 or 2 dropper(s). Do that again each hour for 4 hours. Then cut back to 1 dropperful about every 4 hours. This will often knock out a cold in just a day or two. This dose is for 150 lb. adult and we adjust as needed for kids.

If we were taking Echinacea for something long term, we'd take it for 3 weeks and then leave it off for a week. Or take it for 4 to 5 days and leave it off for 2 to 3 days. It is helpful like that to combat hayfever or other allergies, asthma and other immune system related maladies. For cases like that we just take a dropper once every 3-4 hours.

If it's a serious infection, we add Goldenseal root extract in capsule form, for 10 to 14 days.

  3. i take three a day with Vitamin C.
