How much energy can I save changing all the main light bulbs I use to energy saver halogen bulbs?

  2. You don't save anything with halogen light bulbs. There is no such thing as an energy saver halogen, despite what the sellers might want you to believe with their ads. A 100 watt halogen bulb gives off the same measure of light (lumens) as a regular 100 watt incandescent initially. This holds for virtually all wattages. They may give off the same amount of life later in their life while an incandescent gives off little bit less.  The savings in electricity is when you use fluorescent bulbs or even the newer LED lamps. They use less wattage to give off more light.  They are efficient.
