  1. According to CIA World Factbook here's some data for 2005:

    3.816 trillion kWh of electricity

    20.8 million bbl/day of oil

    604 billion cu m of natural gas


  2. About 29,000 TWh (terawatt-hours) per year (tera means trillion).  MW is a measure of power whereas MWh (megawatt-hour) is a measure of energy.  That's the equivalent of an average power consumption of 3.3 TW at any given time.

  3. Using the chart below, you can multiply the number of users, by the average monthly consumption, and come out with a reasonable monthly consumption of energy.
