How much energy does a home PC use?

My parents NEVER shut down their computer. How much energy are they waisting by not turning it off at night???

go to http://www.localcooling.com and download their little program and it will tell you exactly how much energy your parents computer uses and how much can be saved by shutting down and/or hibernating.

I also recommend  setting up your computer to automatically hibernate after x hours. Hibernation is great because it lets your computer start right back up very quickly and goes right back where you left off.
