  1. to make H2 via steam reforming, the most efficient,  You put 100 BTU's of methane and out will come 50 BTU's of H2, The question would be, why not just burn the methane in your car and go twice as far.

The second most used is by electrolisis.  Again, you use 100 BTU's of electricity and it will generate 40 BTU's of H2.  Why don't you just take the electricty and go to a motor, you will go 2.5 times farther than with the H2.

Everyone else that posted, you are liars and thieves.  Why not just put a 100 horsepower generator on your engine and make H2 and run your car on it.  Heck put a Honda generator in the back of the pick up truck..

  2. call around to your local dentist office and see who has a gas separator, or the local hospital. all the hydrogen they produce to get pure oxygen oughta give you a firm answer.

  3. It takes a huge amount of electricity just to make a liter of hydrogen.

  4. Who cares how much it uses, you are converting energy to mechanical power. Just stick a bigger alternator in. Anybody who claims hydrogen gas cant be made efficient is an idiot, you are talking about using energy to move a car, not to make energy, therefore the whole "it takes as much energy to put in as you get out" doesnt hold up in the logic of what the goal is. They are referring to the idea of overunity which is supposedly impossible, but that idea doesnt apply to this. Dumb americans with their dumb reasoning.

  5. if you just want to make browns gas, it takes very little. i use the battery in my pickup, have an inline 25 amp. fuse, and havent ran the battery down, havent worn out the alternator, or blown the fuse or anything else. made tons of gas. not really tons, but alot of it.
