  1. One metric is "Energy returned on energy invested"  (EROEI)

    Using it:

    http://mdsolar.blogspot.com/2008/01/eroi...

    shows about 4

    http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf11....

    shows 17 to 58

The second link has a table to compare it to other options.

  2. Nuclear and solar transform energy, they don't "save" energy.

    You must be confused.

  3. Nuclear, according to someone I know runs cheaper than your average oil/coal use electric companies. Rates are suppose to be lower with nuclear.

So you are saving on oil & coal energy resourses. The exact amount I am not sure.

  4. Energy is energy.  Unless you are using less you aren't saving any.

The benefit of nuclear energy is its high efficiency and cleanliness.

  5. The question doesn't make any sense.    That may be why you couldn't find it online.

Are you trying to find what fraction of electricity is generated using nuclear power? Or maybe how much energy is generated by nuclear power?  Are you trying to find what fraction of all energy use comes from nuclear power?  Are you trying to find that for the US?  Worldwide?  Efficiency numbers?  Carbon footprint?  What?
