How much energy is used in internet storage?

And can you give me a picture of what large internet storage facilities would look like? I know it is a huge network, some of it as small as my own PC, but I want to get an idea of what's behind all this. Thank you.

Its estimated that the servers consume 8-10% of the total power in the US.
