How much environmental pollution does email spam cause?

Think about it, with the enormous amount of spam email messages that are processed by email servers and then also sorted and deleted manually by recipients, I would assume that that equates to a pretty hefty number of cpu cycles which in hand uses up electricity.

  1. You forgot about all the land fill when all the old equ... wears out and gets crushed etc. all the manuals for all the new equipment that will take the oldie's place, and the enormous amount of energy it takes to recycle all the manuals, cords that will be cut and thrown away, new ones to take their place, modems, telephone lines, DSL lines, Broadband, Infrared devices, Glass, Plastics, etc. Wow! Who would have thought. I still like trees, They are the true renewable resource, And can be grown forever.

  2. You NEED a new hobby.

  3. SPAM is heartless nonsense.  Accompishing nothing.  I suprised it's still around.  These people truly need to get a life.  Do good works.  Educated consumers can see straight through the nonsense.  They are a predator preying on the weak.  They need to be stopped.  Yahoo does an excellant job at cutting out spam.  I just went away on vacation for 2 whole weeks.  I have come back and voila.  E-mails that I want to recieve.  A few in bulk to scan and automatically tick the top box and delete.  Support Yahoo they have cornered the market on e-mail services.  Fun, educational, environmentally friendly.  Ok enough on my rave about yahoo.  Pure and simple spam is expended energy for small return on investment.  The cost is too great and needs to be stopped.

    Take care,

    Jen
