  1. If it were up to me it would be ZERO... the whole thing is a scam.

  2. I don't have the stuff on hand and from what I understand, the oil companies put in5 to 15% into the gas.

  3. Up to 10 percent of ethanol is safe with gasoline engines that have not been certified at some greater level of ethanol content.  Fuels available at gas stations (depending on state, refinery, etc.) can contain up to 10 percent ethanol right at the pump, so I don't know that I'd go adding additional ethanol to the tank without really knowing what kind of gas you are buying.  Several million vehicles made by US automakers on the road have already been certified to run up to 85% ethanol (referred to as E85), but if you have one of these engines, it would be stated in the owners manual.

  4. The answer is not the same for ever car!  The safe answer is 10%.  A typical answer is 15%.  Please check your owner's manual.  If you have an older car stick to 10%.  Some cars, often called flex vehicles meaning flexible fule ues, can run on as much as 100% but you probably don't have one of those.  Some fex vehicles can also run on natural gas.

  5. You should not use more than one gallon of ethanol to every 10 gallons of gasoline if your car was not designed to use a higher concentration of ethanol

Also, ethanol can damage rubber fuel line and any rubber seals that you have in your fuel system if those parts are not designed to operate with a mix of ethanol and gasoline.

  6. My old truck will run on 100% ethanol, it's any vehicle newer than 2000 that has the problems.

  7. I've a 1993 Plymouth Sundance Duster (V6, auto) that I've filled the tank with E-85 when I was down in Tuscon a couple times for the drive up to Flagstaff. I didn't have a single problem come up from those couple of times. If the E-85 station was closer, I'd fill up every time.

  8. I have always used a little ethanol in my tank for many years. Say 2 gal to 12 gal will keep your fuel system clean and eliminate any water . It is good for your car.

  9. I run 35% ethanol in my non-flex fuel ford focus and have no problems.  I fill up with 5 or 6 gallons of gas then add 3 or 4 gallons of E85.  I have been doing this for 3 years and have never had a single problem.

  10. It depends on your car, different flex fuel vehicles need different mixes.

but instead of ethanol try checking out biobutanol its similar to ethanol but you can use it in a non-modified car that runs on plane old gas or mix it with gas to get more power

also BP and Dupont are working on using it in europe so it must be pretty good if they're putting money into the technology.

try looking it up on google the stuff looks very interesting
