  1. not sure, my neighbor has a springer spaniel, and he is off the leash all the time.she has a field by the house, and the dogs walks in the big grass, into other people yards..into some guy pool, collecting ticks like a souvenirs.so, i guess my answers would be that they have a lot of energy to them. maybe some dog that isn't that much hyper?. i have  basset hound.shes hyper now and then, but just a baby, but later, it will do not so much hyper stuff, and that springer i was talking about is 4 years old

  2. Sounds good to me.Springer's are hunting dogs so a game of retrieve with a toy would be great.

  3. That sounds like a good plan to me :D

  4. I don't know, would it be able to get some more running around time on the weekends? my uncle has 3 and they are VERY hyper, and they get to run around all the time on his farm. A springer is just a very active breed, most of the hunting/working breeds are. I would look into a breed that is more laid back.

  5. that i would say is a little to much for the average size dog from 30 to 100lbs 45 mins a day is good enough.

  6. Hi there.

Will you be getting a puppy?  if so, that is too much exercise for a puppy.  A great rule of thumb to follow is the '5 minute rule' - that is, 5 minutes of exercise per month of age.  Although with a Springer, I would probably do two doses of the 5 minute rule per day.

As an adult though, that is a fantastic amount of exercise.  Most adult Springers will need a good hour of running off the lead per day.  The only thing you should do is be careful not to over exericse.  The more exercise a dog gets, the fitter it becomes.  If you cannot commit to giving a dog hours of exercise every day (which is really not necessary) start as you mean to go along.

    Good luck!
