  1. I have been a nascar fan for 40 yrs I remember watching Mario Andrietti and two other guys due a pit stop. No air guns or Fancy jacks .The star wrench is what they used. Mario would shut the car off get out and start jacking the car up, then he would get 5 gal. gas cans to fuel the car ,the tires change they did the same thing on the other side of the car then Mario would get a drink of water and pop the hood check the oil and away he'd go about 4 Min's.

  2. its "Comcastic"..aka comcast digital fast

  3. Go back to the Woods Brothers of the 1970's --THEY were hired to help speed up Indy car pit stops. A pit stop under 22 second for 4 tires and fuel was lightning quick.

  4. In 84 pit stops took about 30 seconds.  They were using air wrenches but the jack was not the single pump style they use today.   It could take 6-10 pumps to get the car up.  Also the pit stops were done by the same guys that work on the car.  Infact some crew cheifs were also tire changers.

  5. ha very dif.....no comircal breaks during the pit stops today

  6. I believe back then a normal pit stop was about 25 seconds. During the 1990s it was 18 seconds. In the 2000s to today its about 14 seconds.

So its about a 10-11 second decrease.

  7. You know NASCAR Pit Crews are always working on ways to be better and faster.  They practice during the week.  They also have a lot more technology today than they had so that helps.
