it takes me 1.5 minutes to walk the same distance as it would take me 1 minute to run. i am a fairly in-shape runner and tend to walk rather quickly, but this still seems like not a large enough difference?

  1. the first person to answer this is right, for example i can run a mile comfortably in 6 minutes and walk a mile in about 12 minutes, but if i run 3 miles easy it would take around 18 minutes while it would take me around 36 minutes (maybe even a little more) to walk 3 miles

  2. It's a matter of math. You have to travel longer lengths of time to see a bigger difference in distance.

Go out and run for 10 minutes...then walk for 10 minutes and measure up the difference.
