I have to turn in a few documents then my financial aid should be available. My estimated family contribution is 0, therefore my schooling should be fully paid for, is that correct ?

How much would you receive during the summer and if your efc is 0 ? Is it half of what it is during Fall / Spring ??

Thanks.

  1. If you are looking for Summer aid, you must complete the 2007 - 2008 FAFSA...even though the calender year for that FAFSA ends in June.  At our school, the 07 - 08 form is used to pay for Summer classes.  For the Fall/Spring, the 2008 - 2009 FAFSA must be filled out.  As far as what you will receive, it depends on the cost of attendance at your school.  With an EFC of 0, you should get full pell.  If you are attending a community college, during long semesters you can expect a larger refund portion than you would at a four year university.

  2. Difficult question to really answer.  You need to ask your financial aid office.

It depends on how your school treats the summer session, whether it is a header or trailer to the academic year, and how much funding in pell you already received for the academic year you are attending.  It sounds like this may be the first pell disbursement in the academic year.  If so, if you are enrolled full-time for the summer and your efc is zero, you would get half of the full year amount.  Most students though are only enrolled half-time in the summer.

Best case scenario is to talk to your financial aid office.

  3. No one will be able to tell you for sure exactly how much you will receive...only the school can do it. each school has a certain amount that they can give out to the students each year. they give it out to those who show they need it most. your EFC or expected family contribution is 0 so the school will probably put you at the top of the list for need. EFC basically tells them how much your family can afford to contribute based on family income, how many people in your household are in college, and how many people are in your household overall. Here's the thing w/ summer classes. they give you aid in the summer but it usually means you will get a little less aid in the following fall semester(This is b/c they stretch out the amount they give you total). But it is good b/c then you wont have to come up w/ the full amount. Your EFC is 0, so you probably still wont have to pay anything. it depends on the school and their cost of tuition also. Talk with your school's financial aid office, usually someone is there to help you even in the summer they are still there everyday.Good Luck
