  1. They always say drink 8 8-oz glasses of water. But we forget that there is water in food, so that isn't always accurate. Water hydrates the body and keeps all your systems working like they're supposed to.

  2. Water is essential to life and you can only live for about 3 days without it. It does not 'cleanse' the body, but is required for the body to function.

An average adult in average conditions of temperature and humidity, involved in an average level of activity, wearing average clothes, requires 2 to 2 1/2 litres of fluid a day. 1 litre is needed to produce enough urine passing through the kidneys to remove all the body's waste products and 1 to 1  1/2 litres is lost through evaporation as sweat and moisture in expired air.

Small excesses of fluid intake are just peed out through the kidneys unchanged. Larger excesses may produce over-hydration, hyonatraemia and eventially fits and death from water intoxication.

  3. Like the girl said above, its supposed to be 8 oz. 8 glasses, whichever you prefer to call it. And water kind of sort of does cleanse your body, It just makes all your systems work more efficiently. It helps with digestion and it makes your blood a little bit thinner so your heart pumps easier, and it hydrates your skin. The way it actually cleanses your body that i kno of for sure is that it helps your liver cleanse your system. Because your liver uses water to cleanse your body when you have toxins and stuff. Thats how people get hangovers, because if your not hydrated enough after you drink, the liver uses water from your brain which gives you your headache.

And pretty much drinking anything else works the same way. Because usually anything thats a liquid has some percentage of water in it. And when you digest, your stomach seperates the water and vitamins from the waste. So if you drink something thicker, it might not help as much. Regular water is the purest and best.
