I am having a fiesta style high school graduation party for my son. I am not sure of the # of people that will actually attend. I invited 65-75 people Not all like Mexican food. What amount of people should I tell the caterer? Of course I want enough, but also do not want a ton left over.

  1. It is very rude to invite a lot of people over and then not have enough food for them when they show up.  First, if you can get them to RSVP you should do that.  (Call them and tell them you are trying to decide how much food to have, and so you need to know if they are coming.  They will understand.)

If you are worried about money, you can also just cater to serve appetizers for 75 instead of a full meal.  Or you could have everyone take something home if there are leftovers.

  2. get them to rsvp...if not tell the cater about 70 ....that should work if you happen to have left over send some food home with the guests

    hope i helped

  3. 57.  I like that 80-20 rule for a party.  80% will show.  I'd say the if they "don't like" mexican food, they will eat it if they are hungry, or they can go to Micky D's afterward.

    80/20... trust me.

  4. thats why you put rsvp on the invitations, i would tell them 60 or 65, because every single person will not make it and the worst that could happen is everyone could not pig out entirely. theres nothing wrong with left overs though :]

  5. What foods are you having? If you plan on having like Toco's, or any other hand food like that you should have from 100-125. Not More Than 150 because your going to have a ton left over...

NOw if you p lan on having a sit down food like Rice etc. you should have at least 2-3 pans full depending on the pan.

Have Fun At Y our Party =)
