  1. Just get Beer! if there hungry they can order a takeaway!

  2. As a caterer for many years you need to have an idea of what kind of food you are serving as the answer to finger food would be so different from a buffet or a sit down meal.

If I'm doing finger food I allow 5 pieces of food per head at a supper or 8 pieces if it is a dinner.

It is a good and easy idea to make a huge pot of chili and another of rice, served with funky throw away cutlery and napkins. The have a large birthday cake/pavlova/dessert roll etc for dessert.

  3. Fairly enough, if your cheap and greedy, give out the food as the party goes along so instead of letting it all out and the foood is finished, give it parcitaly so it stays longer. That's what my aunt does though it's not a great idea.

  4. generaly if you are doing a buffet you should cater for 75 % of the guests,  so if you had a caterer with a price per head menu then only pay for 75%

if you are doing yourself then local supermarkets can make up buffet platters for you, marks and spencer and morrisons do this i know of.  if not iceland doo some fab picky bits for buffets and you can buy the foil platters and bits from asda.

  5. Depends on what you're going to serve.

Any caterer can inform you of what you need and they'll make sure you have enough food for 90.

  6. enough for all

  7. when i do party's i find it easier to do a big pan of chili and a big pan of hotpot, then get some french bread. it saves alot of time and money.

  8. Your caterer is hired to detail this.  They can suggest certain amounts, you decide on the menu or list of items.  It is easier for you to communicate this based on the budget or how much per person you want to spend.  Then they can design a menu with what you want to spend based on the kind of foods (Italian, Mexican buffet, fingerfoods, fancy hors d'oerves, Taco/Burrito bar, etc).

I cater, and this is an easy way to nail down a menu and amounts of food to serve.

  9. The bare-bones answer is:

1 Pound Of Food Per Person For Snacks

1-1/2 Pounds Of Food Per Person For A Meal

The link below has a Party Food Calculator.

  10. One sausage roll and a bottle of wine for each person should do.

  11. Always go for a higher amount of food than people you don't want to run out! Plus leftovers are always a good thing some guests might even want to take some to go!!
