  1. It just depends on the child-- each one is different.  Some days my 2 year old eats a lot other days she just nibbles.  The main thing is to offer a variety of healthy food and let the toddler choose what to eat.  Over the course of a week they will get enough nutrition as long as you're offering healthy choices.

  2. Enough to fill the child up.

  3. Since your Mom has already brought you up, I think she'll know what to do just fine!

  4. If she is "adopting one" shouldn't she have an idea already of how much a 2 year old requires?

My son is 2 and has small meals often.

    1 weet Bix for breakfast.

A piece of fruit or a yoghurt for snack.

    Sandwich for lunch.

Small bowl of food for dinner (what we have but chopped finely.)

I give my son a cup of fruit juice for breakfast, but only milk and water after that. Fruit juice isn't that good for them.

They shouldn't eat a lot of junk food, only once a week or so.
