We will be having about 110 people at my son's birthday party. About 35 will be children. We are going to have brats and burgers and are unsure how much to buy of each. We are pretty sure everyone will want a brat or maybe 2. What do you think we should do as far as meat goes?

We will also have Fruit and Veggies and Baked Beans.

  1. We had a HUGE picnic once and had around the same # of people. We ended up buying the pre-made frozen hamburger patties. They really were so much easier to deal with. I would say it was about 20 lbs of meat all together. As far as the brats, I wouldn't get too much, especially if you are having the burgers. Why not make a nice big salad too to go along with the menu?

  2. order the food for 100 adults n 50 kids.

eg: if an adult eats 1 portion ; kid will eat 2 portion (ice cream / burgers ) and .5 portion of Vegs / fruits

if the food does go excess ; say the name of god n distribute it to the homeless n needy

  3. the best site I have found for this is: http://www.greatpartyrecipes.com/partyfo...

Personally I prefer to shop at Smart and Final over Costco since it is non-membership and more food oriented. i do a lot of parties and always come out about 15% cheaper than the Costco price.

  4. That's a heck of a party. I'd go to Costco if I were you. Be sure to check on whether you have any vegetarians!

If you think everyone will want a brat or maybe more, go for 150. As for burgers, you probably will want twenty to thirty pounds of meat for good-sized burgers.

  5. Brats will more than likely be eaten by the adults.  Don't forget the hot dogs for the kids.  x's 2 for the kids for sure, maybe x's 3 for some.

Adults, count on one brat and one burger for most.

Fruit and veggies are good, baked beans too, but you might want to consider a one or two different things for any one who is vegetarian.

Don't run out of the fruit and veggies.  Fruit will go first.  To make it easier, make up simple fruit salads.  Very simple

Buy a frozen lasagna for the not so vegetarian, vegetarian.

A few soy burgers for the vegans
