I am having a birthday pool party for my son this upcoming saturday from 2-4 so we have decided to just do snacks not a full meal. But how much should i buy?

We are serving 40 people and about 10 are children under the age of 7 (my son will be 2) and the rest are teens and adults. I have decided to make the following.

Veggie Tray: Califlower, Carrots, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Pickles and Dill Dip

Cheese and Cracker Tray (Probably 2 types of cheeses)

Chips and Salsa

Chips and French Onion Dip

and of course cake and ice cream.

So how much of each ingredient should i buy?

Also ...drinks any ideas what to serve? How much?

  1. Here's a great site for recipes and measurements..let people who offer to bring stuff, bring it!  It helps.  Someone else can bring chips, and sodas and cookies.

  2. Count on people taking 2-3 of each thing and add about 15-20 extra for those who want more. As far as drinks, water is always good and juice boxes or pouches are good too you'll need at least one per child and teen. Sparkling Cider is great for the adults and keeps things non-alcoholic.

Also, you should include something more sophisticated like an olive tray and kabobs, or throw in some sliced apples for the crackers and cheese.

    Good luck.
