We're a family of four, planning for a trip to Disney in a year,

and we've been discussing the goal price to set on. What do you think it would be? (oh, by the way, we live in Indiana) Just wondering what you thought!

  1. My sister and I (we are from Ohio) are going to Disney World in December for the first time and we booked the Disney part through AAA and bought the airline tickets ourselves.  Below is what we have so far...

Airline Tickets- $718.00 (two tickets round-trip through Continental)

Magic Your Way Package- $1255.00 (includes 5 nights at the All Stars Movie hotel, four day base tickets---one park per day, and the dining plan)

Travel Insurance through AAA (may or may not need...you have to decide)- $124.00 ($62/person)

Rental Car (may or many not need...my sister insists she needs to have a car at all times)- $190.00 (six days)

I'd budget at least $750 for souveniors, tips, etc. (a lot more if you decide not to do the dining plan), though you may spend more or less.

  2. there are three ways to plan your disney vacation.

1- go through dinsey.com. you can get an all inclusive vacation quote from them.  advantage that you can almost an all inclusive vacation and have few out of pocket expenses. disadvantage is that it can be more expensive.

2- go through a travel agent. benefit is that they can help you tailor your trip to both your taste and budget. however, i would make sure that they have plenty of experience dealing with disney world. the more they know, the more help they can be.

3- do it yourself. advantage is that you can pick and choose yoru options and get the lowes prices possible. however, since you are not familiar with the area, you might not be as close to the parks as you would like.

    things to take into consideration.

if you stay at a DISNEY hotel you get free transportation to all the Disney parks as well as other Disney properties. with how expensive gas is, this might make the price difference worth it. plus their buses run about every 15-30 minutes. other resorts that offer bus services have only two or three buses that go out in the morning and two or three that come back at night. this can affect your trip because you will have to plan it around their schedule. also if you stay at a disney hotel and bring your own car, you will be given a parking pass that will allows you to park at the parks without having to pay the daily parking fee of $12. another plus is that on certain days and certain parks you get to either go in early or stay late. gives you extra time to get on the rides.

Staying off property can safe money. especially if you get a suite with a kitchen and you buy your own food and eat there instead of restaurants or the parks. however, the hotel prices go up the closer you are to the parks. then you have to add a car rental and gas. savings might be lost in the additional costs.

if you have more questions you should check out www.allearsnet.com they do a great job in helping you plan for a disney vacation.

  3. It's not going to be cheap, that's for sure, but I promise you that it is totally worth it! Depending on how old the kids are, I'm pretty sure that this will be one of their best vacations! :) I love Disney!

  4. My bf and I went for 1 week and stayed at one of the value resorts (All Star Music which is about $100 a night) and also got the regular dining plan which was $40 a day each person. You get to eat at one of the Disney Restaurants each day and also get a quick service meal and a snack each day. (I highly suggest that if you are staying in a Disney resort.) He paid about $1800 for that so maybe for 4 people it will be almost doubled. Try to book it during the off season if you can (not june or july). The sooner you buy your plane tickets the cheaper they will be.

  5. www.disney.com and click on travel

  6. ok, in a pro cuz i go to disney 2 times every year. ok so the flight would be like  for $1100 (united) for 4 people (round trip). Then to get into the disney park for 6 days for 4 people is, $832.00 . Then the hotel, you could stay at would be Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. and that would be $385- $730 a night! so lets say $500 for the hotel, for each night, and if you stay a week. So the total comes to be around $6,000 and you will probably want some spending money, so we will add another say, $750 so your grand total is about $6,750!!! Hope I helped!

    And enjoy your vacation!
