Question:

How much for a broken 9.5 Taylor Made Bubble Shaft Driver?

I lent a 9.5 degree Taylor Made graphite bubble shaft driver to a friend, which he broke. I'm trying to determine a fair price for him to reimburse me. I checked ebay but there wasn't a ton around.

This was one of the original brown headed drivers from some years back. He snapped the shaft, the head *might* be savable. I will let him keep all broken parts as part of the deal.

I was thinking $25, any thoughts?

  1. Did your Mother never tell you that if "YOU LET THEM PLAY WITH IT, They will break it.

The guy you loaned your club to is a hack. He hit the ball with the shaft, completely missing the club face.

  2. if you want to replace the shaft with a steel probly 80-100 dollars graphite 100-110 dollars

  3. I would say around 50 -60

  4. knowing that its a friend, I'd say around 40-50 dollars. Like you said, your not trying to rip him off and since golf clubs decrease rapidly in price with age, that's probably all it'd be worth and fair.

  5. If you have to ask a value on a friend then the friendship is weak! If he is a good friend he would be at the local pro shop replacing with a current model since the other is history. Let this be a lesson to you, if you lend something EXPECT it to be broken. If it is too special to risk it, dont loan it, if not expect it to get broken. $25 goes out the door at the 19th hole in about 10 minutes, a true friendship lasts a lifetime.

Give him a break, drink a beer and man up for a new driver
