How much for a rat check up?

My rat has a buldge near its tail.

I was just wondering, about how much does it usualy cost to take it to the vet for a checkup?

depends on where you live, for me, about 30-50 dollars...

For me it cost $35 but if s/he needs and x-ray it will prob cost about $50.

you can search your local area at yellowpages.com for a vet and ask.

Call around your area to find out exactly, but you should expect to pay about 30-60 for an office visit.

A bulge near the tail could be an abscess, or it could be a tumor.  Most vets can tell by feeling, or by aspirating (Using a needle to try and pull some of the.. whatever it is out.).  If it's an abscess, draining it/keeping it clean is all you need to do and that shouldn't be expensive.  If it's a tumor, surgery may be needed, but only your vet can really say if it's necessary.
