  1. Call your City Hall.  They'll know the name of the liquor board and can maybe even tell you the number on the phone.  After all, your application will end up going by them anyway.  Best to start small instead of cold-calling the bigger agencies right off.  That way City Hall will know and be prepared for your final approved applications from whatever you alcoholic beverage division is named, City Hall and the Council gets the final say on whether they want to approve you or not.  Be VERY polite on the phone to your city AND especially your state ABD, neither of them have any sense of humor and can deny you for any reason whatsoever, even though you've paid all your fees and paid for all your liquor and dram shop insurance.  Be VERY nice to the entities that can grant you that license.

Oh, and my cost for a class C was $800 a year, non-transferable, and all the insurances were around $2800 a year...in Iowa.

  2. Most places have a liquor comission governed either by the state, county or city.  Start by searching for a number for the liquor commission.  If you cant find it most all places require a fire-code and health inspection before they issue a license, try contacting your local fire marshal or health inspector, if all else fails call the attorney general, they will be able to point you in the right direction.
