how much do you think it would cost about to go to edinburgh on the train from nottingham? return ticket (both ways)

  1. It depends on how you buy the ticket.  If you buy online three months in advance it will be much cheaper than buying it on the day at the station.  Go on the companies website and see what they can offer.  

    A friend on mine once got a return ticket (Plymouth-Manchester) for £3 by advance booking, although I think this is a rare case.


  2. It is difficult to be precise as you do not say when you want to travel or for how long you want to stay. If, howver, you are talking about the immediate future (next week say) your cheapest option is a Saver Return costing £96.90. If you are asking about a time further into the future, they may be offers available - particularly by buying two singles. Looking ahead to  1st September you could travel on the 12.50 from Nottingham for £26 and return a week later on the 12.30 from Edinburgh for as little as £15. You really will have to do your own research based on the date and time of travel, looking at http://www.thetrainline.com/
