  1. No solid foods not until he's at least 4 months, though doctors recommend it at 6th.

It's probably that your baby doesn't necessarily want more milk, he just wants to have a soother. You can give him water instead, and if he doesn't like it, add half the scoops of milk you normally give him to taste.

  2. I babysit an infant that just turned 4 months and she eats 3.5 oz every 3 hours (sometimes goes longer)...  If he wants more, yes - feed him what he can eat. If he spits up it just means he ate too much.  Don't add cereal! I did a lot of research and there are many reasons why it is not a good thing to add cereal to their milk!

  3. either or. my daughter was the size of a 6 month old by that age so i just started giving her rice cereal right before bedtime. but i would talk to your doctor because a lot of doctor dont like babies to be on it until they are 6 months. you could just try a teaspoon in his bottle right before bed. or you can just increase his bottle size. as long as he isnt hungry.

  4. No cereal before 4 months. baby should be eating 2 1/2 oz per pound of body weight. He could be eating more cuz he's big. Feed him what he will eat.

  5. I have a big baby too :)  She just recently went up to 6oz every 3-4 hours, but she is almost 4 months old now.  I would just go ahead and make him the 6oz bottles. If he's like my little one, he'll just turn his head when he's had enough, which doesn't happen often here!

  6. I have been feeding my 3 month old 6oz since he was like a month n half. He is 17lbs. He eats every 3 hours. I give him a bottle with cereal in it his night time bottle that is it. My pediatrician said it was okay. He was a big boy when he was born though.  If he can not finish a whole 6oz bottle every time then just give it to him at his hungriest times. Like at night and in the morning. And the rest of the day give him a 4oz. If he can finish a 6oz at every bottle then def. give him it!

  7. it depends of how much he way now.Usually,3 month old babies are eating 4-6oz every 3-4 hours. Cereal in the bottle will not help as what some people say because what the baby needs for the first 4 months is pure milk, nothing else. Introduce solid between 4-6months or when he can hold his head steadily when sitting with support.

  8. Do NOT put cereal in his bottles. That is a choking hazard and cereal should only be given by a SPOON when your baby is old enough for it(4 months at the earliest) or if the doctor recommends it.

My baby was eating 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours at that age. He's now 4 and a half months and eats about 6 ounces every 4 hours. Give him 6 ounces in his bottles.
