  1. Depends on the aeroplane.

  2. more than ur car!

  3. It really Depends on the type of airplane you are talking about.

Airplanes do not figure in miles per gallon like a car does. Airplanes figure in gallons per hour (gph). Once you understand that, it's a matter of knowing your airplane.

A Piper cub uses around 4 gph and goes about 80 mph

A Cessna 172 uses around 8 gph and goes around 110 mph (or 95 knots)

An early Beechcraft Bonanza uses 11-12 gph and cruises at around 145 mph.

As you get into twins, the fuel consumption obviously rises.

A Beechcraft Travelair that I used to fly, which is like a smaller Bonaza but with 2 engines would burn 20 gph and cruise around 175 mph.

Airplanes come in all sizes and functions and they all use different amounts of fuel. I can't tell you much about the bigger ones.

  4. Small private single engine planes use 5-10 gallons per hour.

  5. Lots but they go faster then cars so it works out.

  6. anywhere from 100 gallons to 7000+ gallons
