  1. You should average about 5-7 gph

  2. A rule of thumb for computing fuel consumption on any gasoline powered boat engine is to divide the total horsepower (hp) by 10 if the engine has a carburetor . The result will yield a close approximation to the Gallons per hour (Gph) consumed by that engine at wide open throttle (WOT).   So, 190 divided by 10 yields approximately 19 Gph consumed at WOT for  a 190 hp engine.

If fuel injected the formula is similar, but  you divide the hp by 11.  So, 190/11 = 17.27 Gph at WOT.

Another rule of thumb is that the fuel consumption for any engine at 3/4 throttle is approximately 1/2 the fuel consumption at WOT.  So, if your 190 hp has a carb and assuming WOT is 4400 rpm,   you would consume approximately 9.5 Gph at 3300 rpm.

  3. it depends on the boat   and  prop you have to get the boat on plane that is where you get the best so called mpg if you have a tri-hull or a displacement hull a lot of fuel . go fast get the boat on plane and pull back the throtleslowly to keep the boat on plane you will get the most out of it

  4. Depends on a lot of things.

    RPM's is the biggie.

    So does WOT.

If you are waterskiing all day a tank of gas per day is not out of the question. Have done it many times.

If you are out cruising around, and please let me recommend staying below 80% WOT it might take a couple of days to burn a tank.

Going slow, cocktail cruising, less than 1500 rpms, you will have plenty of gas for days.

Edit: Josh, that is excellent, gonna write that one down.
